8 Comforting Cottagecore YouTube Channels

If you’re searching for new YouTube channels to wind down and relax with, you’re in the right place! I’ve pulled together this list of some of my favourite creators who make slow-paced videos that are incredibly comforting to watch.

Not all of these channels are cottagecore in the strictest sense of the word, but they all incorporate an element of nature, fantasy/ literature, or intentional living in their videos. In no particular order, let’s dive right in!

1) Mossy Bottom

Daniel left behind his life in England to pursue his dream of creating a smallholding in the north-west of Ireland. He produces videos on a variety of topics, including cottage restoration, local folklore, tending to his plants/ animals, personal anecdotes, and property hunts. His sincere and unhurried filming style provides a glimpse into his day-to-day life with no bells or whistles attached.

2) Li Ziqi

Li Ziqi’s channel beautifully showcases life in rural China. Against the stunning backdrop of her local countryside, she takes the viewer through traditional methods of producing food, drinks, clothing, and dΓ©cor items from scratch. There’s something special about the way her poetic filming style captures the story behind her artisanal creations.

3) Rachel Maksy

Rachel shares enchanting cottagecore and vintage DIY and transformation videos on her YouTube channel. Whether she’s making a mushroom hat or painting a Victorian wall mural, her sense of humour makes the creative process incredibly entertaining to watch. She frequently draws inspiration from historical fashion, and I often learn something new about vintage style eras/ sewing from her videos. If you’re in need of some inspiration for your next project, I recommend giving her channel a watch!

4) Mother the Mountain Farm

Mother the Mountain Farm follows the daily lives of sisters Julia and Anastasia, who live on their family’s farm on the Australian East Coast. One of the things that sets this channel apart is their commitment to permaculture and regenerative farming practises. With the help of their mischievous geese, goats, and sheep, their goal is to create a self-sustaining future on the land.

I love the can-do attitude of both women. They’re always taking on a variety of projects to avoid buying new – from fixing fences to sewing dresses from second-hand tablecloths.

5) The Cottage Fairy

Paola shares cosy rural living videos about her life as an artist in Washington State. Her videos feel like something straight out of a storybook, complete with soothing narrations and dream-like shots of the local landscape and inside her home. Her content varies from day-in-the-life videos at her part-time job in a bookstore to foraging recipes. As well as being visually beautiful, many of her videos contain messages about pursuing self-acceptance and finding peace in the present – regardless of your surroundings.

6) Leena Henningsen

From her home in the mountains of Norway, Leena captures stunning videos of her daily life and the stunning surrounding landscape throughout the seasons. As a professional filmmaker and photographer, she does a beautiful job of capturing everything from dramatic mountain scenes to cosy home tours in an immersive, cinematic way.

7) Jonna Jinton

Jonna Jinton is a filmmaker, artist, and musician who creates videos showcasing her daily life in the forests of Northern Sweden. After feeling unhappy in the city of Gothenburg, she moved to the small village of Grundtjarn, where her mother was born and where she has ancestral roots. Joyfully and artistically, her videos celebrate the magic of nature, showcasing scenes like painting with natural pigments, kulning (singing) on the mountains, chopping timber wood for winter, and taking ice baths in the freezing water of her local lake.

8) SewRena

Serena shares creative, vintage-inspired sewing and crafting videos on her YouTube channel, SewRena. Her videos are calming and informative, often filled with unique, little-known vintage treasures that are incredibly interesting to learn about. I love to watch her creative process as she turns vintage patterns into wearable garments. The items she sews are often inspired by 1950s/ 1960s fashion, featuring cottagecore-esque puffy skirts and floral prints. If you’re considering learning how to sew vintage clothes, Serena’s channel is a fantastic resource!

9) Isabel Paige

Isabel films cosy, seasonal videos from her family’s rural property in Washington, where she lives in a tiny house. Her videos typically showcase her out in nature, cooking homemade foods, doing practical building work on her home and family’s vegetable farm, and going on adventures with her friends, family, and boyfriend. Isabel has a great eye for visual composition and pairs her videos with relaxing music and sounds, which makes them very soothing to watch.

This post was all about calming cottagecore YouTube Channels!

Ad πŸ¦‹πŸŒˆ Butterflies can help you predict the w Ad πŸ¦‹πŸŒˆ Butterflies can help you predict the weather, according to folklore.

In Mid and West Wales, for example, seeing a gathering of a large number of white butterflies is said to be a sign that fair weather is on the way. πŸ› Meanwhile, in England, seeing brimstone butterflies among the spring flowers was thought to be a sign that poor weather is around the corner.

Butterflies are highly sensitive to changes in temperature and barometric pressure, which lowers before a storm or change in weather happens. β›ˆοΈ So, there's a scientific basis for the idea that they may indicate short-term weather changes. If they're seeking shelter, it's a sign that rain or harsh weather is on the way.

The beautiful blue butterfly ring I'm wearing in this video was kindly gifted to me by @fableengland . It's modelled after vintage natural history illustrations and is fully adjustable!

🌼🌲✨ Snowdrops appear as if by magic in a d 🌼🌲✨ Snowdrops appear as if by magic in a delicate green and white carpet at the begining of spring.

We've had a lot of frost and snow throughout February and in these first few days of March. It's incredible to see how these unassuming little flowers overcome the cold.

❄️ Snowdrops have anti-freeze proteins in their sap which keep their cells safe from freezing temperatures, and their leaves are specially-adapted to break through frozen soil or snow thanks to their hardened, pointed ends.

Through the fanged maw of mist, a forgotten world shivers awake. Wood sprites weave spells over winter-brushed branches. Dragons, draped with silvered lichen, stir in their ancient dreams.

Like every season, winter has its own special kind of magic. It's incredible to watch familiar landscapes transform with snowfall or frost, like a whole new world has been layered on top of what already exists.

A journey through the wishing woods πŸŒ²πŸ‚βœ¨ Be A journey through the wishing woods πŸŒ²πŸ‚βœ¨ Beech trees are known for their connection to wishes and knowledge.

Legend has it that if you write a selfless wish on a fallen beech branch and tie it back to the tree, it might come true. This tradition is thought to have originated from the Celtic belief that beech trees have a direct connection to the Otherworld, so the words will be carried there.

It was absolutely enchanting to see these trees in the mist in the early hours πŸ‚

πŸŒ™πŸ‚ The Hunter's Moon and faerie revelry | ad πŸŒ™πŸ‚ The Hunter's Moon and faerie revelry | ad with @fableengland

The Hunter's Moon will appear in our skies this October. It is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, rising in the cool, clear nights that follow the autumn equinox.

Like the Harvest Moon, the Hunter's Moon was (and still is) a crucial light source for those working or travelling during the dark autumn nights.πŸ•―οΈOn moonlit nights like these, the Fae are said to emerge from their dwellings and come to the mortal world for rades or processions - especially near Samhain, when the Hunter's moon appears.

This pendant from @fableengland 's Autumn/ Winter collection perfectly captures the moon's glow at this time of year. It has a faux pearl centre that reflects light beautifully. 🌌

The Hunter's moon this year is on the 28th of October. πŸŒ™

Travel through the seasons with me. πŸŒΏπŸ‚ It's Travel through the seasons with me. πŸŒΏπŸ‚ It's hard to believe it's autumn already! I started filming this video more than a year ago, capturing the seasons from the same spot beneath this beautiful birch tree. It's incredible to see how the trees and landscape change from vivid greens and blossoms to the frigid snow of winter.

I find that my creativity is at its peak in the transition seasons of autumn and spring 🍁🌼 I've been active on my stories, but I'm excited to start sharing more feed posts again! When do you feel the most creative?
