I love second-hand shopping – around half my wardrobe is pre-owned! There’s nothing like finding a unique piece for a great price, and knowing you’re doing your bit to prevent clothes from ending up in the landfill. However, after I moved to a rural area two years ago, accessing physical second-hand stores became more difficult. So, I’ve been exploring online options. I recently came across a UK-based website I hadn’t heard of – Preworn LTD. In this post, I’ll be sharing my honest experience shopping with them, including what I bought and how much it cost.

What Makes Preworn Different to Other Second-hand Clothing Websites?
Something that makes Preworn LTD different to other second-hand clothing websites is that they list their items themselves rather than acting as a middleman for resellers. They buy second-hand clothes in bulk, then sort through these items and offer a curated selection for sale on their online store.
Preworn also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and a circular approach to fashion. Their business model is based on giving used clothing a second chance. They state on their website that none of their unsalable items go to a landfill or incinerator, meaning that they are making significant efforts to keep waste at a minimum.
Preworn LTD Review: My Experience
Shopping on Preworn
Preworn have so many different clothing options – from outdoor clothing to smart evening dresses. I was searching for some comfy, practical pieces to wear on walks, in the office, and around the house.
Initially, I found the search tools on the website a little tricky to navigate. However, after a bit of experimenting, I discovered a helpful strategy: shopping by brand and filtering by size. I highly recommend doing it this way if you’re struggling to use their search tools. I also browsed by searching for specific words like “linen”, “plaid shirt”, and “floral skirt” to find items of a particular style.
One of the fantastic things about Preworn is that they provide detailed sizing in inches for every item. This makes it easy to determine if something will fit you before you buy. I highly recommend checking out these measurements while shopping, as I initially overlooked them!
What I bought
After a bit of browsing, I managed to find some incredibly unique pieces that I was excited to try! I purchased a grey jacket from Monsoon, a plaid wool shirt from AllSaints, a button-up beige shirt from BonMarche, and a floral skirt from White Stuff.
How much did it cost?
I signed up to Preworn’s newsletter, as they were giving a discount for new subscribers when I placed my order. With the discount, I was able to save 25% on my first order! I saved £6.25 in total. They often send offers by email, so it’s worth registering if that’s something you’re interested in.
My total came to £20.25 for my items and shipping. That works out to just £5.06 per item with shipping included, which I think is a very fair price (and far cheaper than buying new clothes).
Were the items worth the price?
I always try to manage my expectations when shopping for second-hand items, especially online. It’s difficult to predict how a piece of clothing will look and feel without seeing it in person. For me, that’s part of the fun of it – the element of surprise.
I’m pleased to report that I was very happy with my order. The clothes all smelt clean and looked very similar to the original product listings. They’re also all in good condition and still have plenty of life left in them. It feels great to be able to give them a new home in my wardrobe. They were well worth the £20.25 I spent on them.
I’m looking forward to wearing this skirt to work. The print is very unique, featuring a delicate, detailed pattern of horses and trees. One of the reasons I love second-hand shopping so much is that it gives you the opportunity to find unusual pieces like this.
I’m also very pleased with my plaid shirt and grey jacket. I’ve been wearing my jacket constantly since I bought it. It rains a lot in my area, so it’s great to have something to wear keeps me warm, is lightweight, and dries quickly!
Sizing
The sizing was incredibly accurate, with 3 out of 4 items fitting me perfectly! The only item that didn’t quite fit was the beige shirt, which was too large. I didn’t realize until after placing my order that Preworn conveniently provides detailed sizing measurements in inches for each listing. I strongly recommend checking these before purchasing to ensure the perfect fit. Luckily, the shirt found a new home with my partner!
Shipping
Were the items shipped securely?
The items were sent via tracked delivery which meant I was updated at each stage of their journey. The plastic parcel, which I can reuse, protected the items from the weather. I’d love to see Preworn introduce biodegradable packaging in the future.
How long did my Preworn LTD Package take to arrive?
The parcel arrived incredibly quickly. I ordered late on Sunday evening and received it by Tuesday lunchtime. It was a lot faster than most other second-hand websites I’ve used. This might be because Preworn manages their inventory themselves, rather than being a marketplace for resellers.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with my experience with Preworn LTD. They’re working hard to second-hand shopping more convenient for people who don’t have easy access to physical stores. The prices of their clothes are very fair and I was able to find some beautiful, functional pieces. I’ll definitely be shopping there again and recommending them to my friends!
